AutoCLASS

AutoCLASS is a csh script to transfer all today's spectra from /gauss/spectra (new correlator) first to a CLASSy FITS file and then to a CLASS-format file class.yyddd, where yyddd is that part of the spectrum-file name.

class.yyddd is created (or appended) in the default directory on this computer. AutoCLASS is intended to be used on a computer that is NFS mounted to GAUSS (the correlator computer).

AutoCLASS loops and adds each new spectrum as it becomes available. You'll need to kill (with ^C) and restart AutoCLASS each day at UT midnight when the run-number prefix changes. You'll need at least one spectrum from VC 1 with the current date on disk before starting AutoCLASS. If you add a run number on the command line, then AutoCLASS will start with that number. If you add also Fits5 parameters (after the starting run number), then these will be used instead of the default Fits5 parameters below. This version puts spectra from up to four VCs all into the same class file class.yyddd.

USAGE:

user@fourier> AutoCLASS [ Fits5 parameters, e.g., -a -g ... ]
or,
user@fourier> Auto [ Fits5 parameters, e.g., -a -g ... ]

where yyddd (no v) is that part of the spectrum-file name.

Default Fits5 parameters will be used if the optional Fits5 parameters are not present on the AutoCLASS command line. This version puts spectra from up to 4 VCs all into the same class file class.yyddd.
