User Guide

37-Meter telescope The User's Guide of the Haystack Observatory 37-meter Telescope is intended to give student and faculty users a thorough preparation to begin operating the telescope. It is essential that all users be familiar with the several short manuals and tutorials on programs and operation procedures. The on-line guide contains manuals and tutorials for the telescope control software (Umbrella), login information, a simplified, menu-driven version of the telescope contro software (SUM), available scripts to aid in observing and data handling and useful information regarding data reduction.

Although the 37-meter telescope is a sophisticated and complex astronomical instrument, the guides and tutorials provided herein, should allow our users to conduct observations from either the Haystack control room or their remote sites with relative ease.
