August 2001 SE Asia Trip

Hong Kong from Victoria Peak

Hong Kong, Vistoria Strait, and Kowloon in the background (from Victoria Peak)

Steve and John traveled through 12 time zones to reach Hong Kong and Hanoi The word is HOT and the air is HUMID.

The Star Ferries criss-cross the Strait dodging ships and barges between the cities, while street vendors hawk imitation Rolex and fast-food joints offer fishcuttle, eels, and cold beer as a respite from the heat. Hong Kong is a world capital of finance and trade and is at the same time ranked high among the wealthiest and the most crowded of cities.
