Abstract

Electron density profile data obtained from the Digisonde observations at Wuchang (30.5 degN, 114.4 degE) are used to study the IRI bottomside model, the electron density at a height of 170 km and other quantities descriptive of F_1-region ionization. Empirical formulas of the above parameters for Wuchang are proposed as functions of day number of the year d and the 12-month-running-mean sunspot number R_12.
